Rev. D. Lota is our new pastor at Central Baptist Church-Portuguese Language Ministry. He has an ardent desire to see Portuguese -speaking people changed by the knowledge of our Saviour Jesus Christ. His commitment to minister the Gospel to the Portuguese Community, makes for a vibrant congregation of Portuguese speaking people at Central Baptist Church.

	*Rev. Richard Root* has pastored at Central Baptist Church for the last eleven years. Called first as a Minister to Youth and Young Adults, Richard assumed the responsibility of leading the English speaking ministry in 1996. He has a deep love for ministry and a passion to see people's lives transformed by the power of God. Through a contemporary style of preaching and the use of multi-media and the arts in worship he tries to communicate the timeless truths of God in a timely way to this generation. He is a graduate of the clinical psychology program and the University of Waterloo and has a Masters of Divinity degree from McMaster Divinity College. Richard and his wife Corinna have three children: Rachel , Nicole and Joshua (2). When he is not busy with his family he can be found indulging his love for the cinema, squash and distance running.

	*Steve Elshaw* joined the Central Baptist family in July 2007 as the youth and children's pastor and has felt like he was at home from the moment he stepped in the door. He is passionate about serving youth and youth leaders and loves to see young people put their trust in Christ. Steve enjoys all types of music, meeting new people from all walks of life, playing sports, public speaking, having great conversations, and laughter. Steve has served in youth and children's ministry at various churches, camps, and missions organizations. Steve studied Criminology, Philosophy and Religion at UofT and holds an honours degree. He has a year of seminary under his belt and hopes to continue to pursue his Masters of Divinity in the near future. Steve lives in Oakville with his wife Kelsi and he is excited about serving the community around him.
	*Alexandra Carvalho* keeps things in order at the church as our secretary. She is a member if the Portuguese congregation and is fluent in both Portuguese and English, so she can answer your questions with regards to anything that is happening at the church. Alexandra can be reached at the church office from 9:00AM to 1:00PM Mondays through Fridays.
